  1. Candidate must read carefully the Instructions (including how to fill up Application Form online) given in the Information Bulletin available in the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Website. Candidates not complying with the Instructions shall be summarily disqualified.
  2. Candidate can apply for TNSET 2024 through “Online” mode only. The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.
  3. Instructions for filling Online Application Form:
    • Download the Information Bulletin. Read it carefully to ensure your eligibility.
    • Follow the steps given below to Apply Online:
      Step-1: Apply for Online Registration using own Email Id and Mobile No.
      Step-2: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down the system generated Application Number. Upload scanned images of:
      • A recent passport size photo (file size 10Kb – 200Kb) in colour with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background;
      • Candidate’s signature (file size: 4kb - 30kb)
      Step-3: Pay the examination fee using Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI and keep proof of fee paid.
    • The Confirmation Page of the online Application Form will be generated only after successful payment by the Candidate.
    • Download, save and print a copy of Confirmation Page of the Application Form for future reference.
      Note :
      1. All the 3 Steps can be done together or at separate timings. The submission of Application of a candidate could be considered as successful and his/her candidature would be confirmed only on the successful transaction/receipt of the prescribed examination fee from him/her.
      2. If fee payment is not successful, the candidate should approach the concerned Bank to ensure the payment details or to obtain the refund of payments.
      3. The final submission of Online Application Form will remain incomplete if Step-2 and step-3 are not completed. Such forms will stand rejected and no correspondence on this account will be entertained.
      4. Request for refund of examination fee once remitted by the candidate will not be entertained under any circumstances.
      5. The entire application process for TNSET 2024 shall be made only through online, including uploading of scanned images, payment of fee, and printing of confirmation page, hall ticket, etc. Therefore, the candidates are not required to send/submit any document(s) including confirmation page to University through Post/ Fax/ WhatsApp/Email/In person.
      6. Usage of Data and Information: Manonmaniam Sundaranar University/Government of Tamil Nadu can use the data provided by the candidates for internal purpose(s) including training, research and development, analysis and other permissible purpose(s). However, this information is not for use by any third party or private agency for any other use.
  4. Candidates shall ensure that the information entered by them in their respective online Application Form is correct.
  5. Information provided by the candidates in their respective online Application Form, like name of candidate, contact details, category, PwD status, educational qualification, date of birth, choice of exam zone, etc. will be treated as final. Any request for change in such particulars after the closure of correction period will not be considered.
  6. Manonmaniam Sundaranar University does not edit /modify/alter any information entered by the candidates under any circumstances. Any request for change in information after submission of Application Form will not be entertained. Therefore, candidates are advised to exercise utmost caution for filling up correct details in the Application Form.
  7. Manonmaniam Sundaranar University disclaims any liability that may arise to a candidate(s) due to incorrect information provided by him/her in his/her online Application Form.
  8. Candidates must ensure that their email address and mobile number to be registered in their online Application Form are their own, as relevant/important information/ communication will be sent by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University either through e-mail or mobile number registered by the candidate. Manonmaniam Sundaranar University shall not be responsible for any non-communication / mis-communication with a candidate in the email address or mobile number given by him/her other than his/her own. Candidates are advised to visit the University website regularly for any updates in this regard.
  9. Hall Ticket shall be downloaded from the website of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University.
  10. Candidates shall appear at their own cost at the Examination Centre on the date of examination as per the instruction given in the Hall Ticket.
  11. Manonmaniam Sundaranar University may change the examination centres and date of examinations without assigning any reason.
  12. Candidates are advised to carry only the following items with them into the Examination Centres:
    1. Hall Ticket along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the University Website (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in.
    2. Additional photo, to be pasted on Attendance Sheet
    3. ID Proof (Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original)- PAN card / Driving Licence / Voter ID/Passport / Aadhaar Card). The name on the photo identification must match with the name as shown on the Hall Ticket.)
  13. The candidates have to follow the instructions given by the invigilators in the examination hall.
  14. There is no negative mark for incorrect answers.
  15. No marks will be given for questions un-answered/un-attempted/marked for Review.
  16. To answer a question, the candidate needs to choose only one option.
  17. If a question is found to be incorrect/ambiguous or has multiple correct answers, only those candidates who have attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answers, would be given the credit.
  18. If a question is found to be incorrect and the Question is dropped, then two marks will be awarded to only to those candidates who have attempted the question. The reason could be due to human error or technical error. Since, there is no negative marking, candidate needs to choose one most nearest option as correct answer.
  19. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.
  20. All legal disputes pertaining to this Test shall fall within the jurisdiction of Tirunelveli Courts only.
  21. The list of Scheduled Castes(SC)/ Scheduled Tribes(ST)/ Most Backward Classes(MBC)/ Denotified Communities(DNC), Backward Classes (BC)/Persons with Disability(PWD) is as per the pages from 183 to 204 in the website: https://www.tnpsc.gov.in/static_pdf/document/instructions-to-candiates.pdf.
  22. The PWD candidate who is in need of a scribe has to identify the scribe on his/her own and produce the scribe before the TNSET Nodal Officer, MS University along with his/her certificates of educational qualifications at least one day before the test.
  23. Compensatory time of one hour will be provided for PWD candidate in addition to the three hours duration, whether such candidate uses the facility of Scribe or not.
  24. Unfair Means Practices and Breach of Examination Rules

    Definition: Unfair Means Practice is an activity that allows a candidate to gain an unfair advantage over other candidates. It includes, but is not limited to:
    1. Being in possession of any item or article which has been prohibited or can be used for Unfair Practices including any stationery item, communication device, accessories, eatable items, ornaments or any other material or information relevant or not relevant to the Examination in the paper concerned;
    2. Using someone to write Examination (impersonation) or preparing material for copying;
    3. Breaching Examination rules or any direction issued by State Nodal Agency in connection with TNSET.
    4. Assisting other candidate to engage in malpractices, giving or receiving assistance directly or indirectly of any kind or attempting to do so.
    5. Writing questions or answers on any material given by the Centre Superintendent for writing answers.
    6. Contacting or communicating or trying to do so with any person, other than the Examination Staff, during the Examination time in the Examination Centre.
    7. Threatening any of the officials connected with the conduct of the Examination or threatening any of the candidates.
    8. Using or attempting to use any other undesirable method or means in connection with the examination.
    9. Manipulation and fabrication of online documents viz. Hall Ticket, Self-Declaration, etc.
    10. Forceful entry in /exit from Examination Centre/Hall.
    11. Use or attempted use of any electronic device after entering the Examination Centre.
    12. Affixing/uploading of wrong/morphed photographs/signatures on the Application Form/Hall Ticket /Performa.
    13. Creating obstacles in smooth and fair conduct of examination.
    14. In case it is found at any time in future that the Candidate has used / uploaded the photograph and signature of someone else in his/ her Application Form / Hall Ticket or he/she has tampered his/her Hall Ticket / result, these acts of the candidate shall be treated as Unfair Means (UFM) Practices on his/her part and he/she shall be proceeded with the actions as contemplated under the provisions of the Information Bulletin relating to Unfair Means Practices.
    15. Candidates are NOT allowed to carry Instruments, Geometry or Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, any kind of Paper/ Stationery/ Textual material (printed or written material), Eatables (loose or packed), Mobile Phone/ Earphone/ Microphone/ Pager, Calculator, Docu Pen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder, Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices in the Examination Hall/Room.
    16. Smoking, chewing gutka, spitting etc. in the Examination Room/Hall is strictly prohibited.
    17. If any candidate is in possession of any of the above item, his/ her candidature will be treated as unfair means and lead to cancellation of the current Examination & also debar the candidate for future examination(s) & the material will be seized. In any violation of the above by the candidate, the decision of the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University is final.
  25. The decision of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University shall be final in all matters.
